Installation

The installation of the "Wind-Thing" wind indicator is straightforward.

  1. First, check the balance by holding the "Wind-Thing" sideways. The vane should remain horizontal to the ground when positioned this way. If it does not, remove the colored nose cap and adjust by turning the screw, replace the cap, and check for correct balance again.

  2. Select an appropriate location on the mast, ensuring it is at eye level and unobstructed.

  3. The wind-thing is mouunted with the vane below the support arm. This is necessary for levitaion to work and allows main sheets to slide off.
